Breakfast… it’s a meal that should be savoured but so often it’s eaten in a rush before we fly out the door to start our day. But today breakfast was definitely savoured – the food, the company, and the inspiring speakers – as women (and two men!) gathered to celebrate International Women’s Day.
“Celebrating Women: Emerging Opportunities”, hosted by LEAP WRQ with on-the-ground partner the Rotary Club of Biloela and sponsor Woman@Origin, gave people from the Banana Shire the chance to come together and enjoy a delicious meal, socialise and take part in a Q&A panel discussion.
This morning’s panellists were Vivia Bora (Pipeline Engineer, Origin Energy), Jessica Caughey (Well-being Coordinator, Anglicare CQ), Taylor Cluff (Vice-captain, Moura State High School), Lianne Joy Jordanel (School Captain, Biloela State High School), and Charlotte Maas (College Captain, Redeemer Lutheran College, Biloela).
Warmly facilitated by Dr Pamela Greet and emceed by Maree Franettovich, the event made for a delightful and inspiring start to the day.
