Central Queensland based singer-songwriter husband and wife duo Pablo and Jayne Centurion are set to make their #AgnesBluesFest debut performing as Ruby Come Back on the Discovery Stage in 2023.
Ruby Come Back was formed after the 2011 floods as a 2-piece acoustic blues folk outfit. Both multi-instrumentalists, Pablo and Jayne write and arrange their own music and collaborate regularly with other local musicians and various creative projects.
Pablo and Jayne perform together acoustically as Ruby Come Back, but also write and perform with electric guitar, bass, keyboard and electronic effects. Emotive instrumental accompaniment coupled with Jayne’s haunting resonate vocals and Pablo’s natural baritone creates a unique experience and perspective.
Lyrically, Ruby Come Back challenge the current political and environmental landscape in order to foster acceptance, inclusivity and empower others to be visible in their own lives and communities. Their mission is to carve out their own niche with songs that touch on very human, connective subjects.
Ruby Come Back toured WA throughout 2019 and early 2020 and in 2021 began recording their debut EP/Album.
This multi-talented duo shares more than 20 years of musical knowledge and experience between them.
Pablo is the bassist and founding member for Biloela rock bands Lenny and the Jets & Full Circle. Jayne often performs as a vocalist in the same band and plays alto and tenor saxophone in the community Biloela Brass band. Both musicians also make up the bass and lead tenor of their local brass quintet.
Giving back to the community in any regard, both local and nationally, is something within their scope as people and musicians who want to be part of bringing joy, inclusivity and entertainment to others.
